My experience-(Canada) Anyone had Botox declined but then approved?

I'm feeling totally hopeless here and spiralling while I wait to hear from my neurologist. Wondering if anyone has gone through something similar.

My neurologist put through approval for me for Botox and made it sound like I'd have no issues getting approved as they wanted proof you'd tried 2 drugs, but I tried 3 with no success.

-Triptan: Didn't really work as an abortive and I got migraines frequently enough I needed to move to a daily preventative

-An anti-epilepsy drug: Lasted 2wks but had a migraine the entire time. Doc took me off it

-Cymbalta: Gave me insomnia even when taking in the morning, stopped after 2wks

-Nortriptyline: Made my heart rate go up, was dizzy and had insomnia, stopped after 2wks

The letter from my insurer says it was declined because I need to try a drug for 3mo. I just feel totally deflated. There's no way I could have handled any of those drugs for a full 3mo. I tried calling my insurer as well but was cut off after a 2hr wait.

Has anyone gone through this and had it approved once their doctor provided additional info on the reasons why they didn't last long on a drug? I don't know what my doc submitted so I'm waiting to hear back on that too.
