My experience-topamax is still affecting me a month later...

topamax / topiramate was one of the WORST meds i have ever taken.

i saw my first neurologist who prescribed me this as my first thing to try (which should've been a red flag, but when i briefly researched the med for some reason i didn't see many bad things about it- should have done more!). she didn't speak very great english which as a latina i was very patient with but proved to be too big a barrier as when i described my horrible side effects, she told me in a sentence that that's not possible, and i should take more.

i literally felt like i was high on something from this med. i'm not a big fan of being high, so u can imagine my discomfort. i couldn't focus on anything that was happening like my ADHD was on steroids, and felt unsafe to drive. even now a month later, i still have trouble focusing on things and still feel a bit of a "haze" and tiredness.

i'm hoping this goes away and i'm lucky to have my adderall to help me (not too high a dose- don't want to be unsafe), but it's crazy how this drug affected me.

i've taken many different drugs from psychiatrists and NONE of them, even at their high dosages did this.

at first i thought it was the pristiq i was trying out, but now i know from other stories that it was this.
