My experience-First Migraine, kinda scared.

Hello all,

I recently found this page and was looking for information from other individuals who have/are suffering from migraines. I had my first migraine 12 days ago. From what I've gathered it was an ocular migraine with an aura (lost part of my vision). I was pretty banged up for a few days after the migraine and saw my primary about the issue. He pretty much patted my on head and said that this could be a one time occurrence or the start of a series of migraines.

This morning I had my second migraine. It was in the same spot as my first (behind my left eye) but no aura with this one, just straight pain. It lasted for about 2-3 hours and after a nap it has resolved itself for the most part. I still have slight headache and feel groggy but no where near as bad as the first migraine (seem to last for 5 days). I have reached out to my primary again to see if there's anything that can be done/what options I have available to me.

I've never dealt with something like before and it's honestly really scary. I don't know what to do, or how to properly deal with the migraines. I've always been a fairly healthy individual with no one in my family having this issue. Does the frequency in migraines change? Or is always multiple times a month? Is there anything you can do to prevent them from happening? I'm sure these questions don't have straight forward answers but I would like to gather as much information as I can to better prepare myself for when the next one shows up. I had hoped that the first one was going to be the last one, but I can see that's not the case. Anyway, any resources or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
