My experience-AR vs transition eyeglasses for light sensitivity
I have migraine with aura which has been significantly affecting my vision the past couple years. I’ve had active transitions for about four years now and they help immensely with migraines, even indoors since there’s always a light tint, but I’ve always had AR coating on them.
I picked up my new glasses today and found out after the fact that my insurance didn’t cover the AR coating on them, only the photochromic. I don’t remember ever having glasses without AR coating so I’m nervous that this will worsen or cause more frequent migraines because I use screens all day. Always on warm tone but my light sensitivity is still one of my biggest triggers. My prescription also went up a lot since last year from +1.00/+1.25 to +2.00/+3.00. Not sure how relevant it is but I also have astigmatism (unchanged rx).
Any word on what differences/issues I might expect from the lack of AR? Should I put the glasses away until I can pay the extra to get the AR coating later?
