My experience-Migraines a few days after period --always triggered by alcohol. Why does this happen?
Ok, I want to know if anyone else experiences this. For the past two years, I have started to get migraines at the end of my period. (I'm 36)
They are almost ALWAYS triggered by alcohol --even one drink.
I don't seem to get them any other time of the month. They mostly happen at the tail end of my period to a few days after, but have come before. (I have been tracking them).
The solution is to obviously not drink in the week after and I have made this mistake a few times, but I'm curious if ANYONE on here knows the mechanism behind why this happenes. Is it hormones? low iron? What does the small amount of alcohol do to trigger the migraine?
It's so awful and messes me up for two days!
Thanks!
