My experience-Migraine pain base of skull....anyone?
I've had migraines with aura since the age of 12 but over the last 2 years the headache pain I get with them has shifted from the front of my head to the base of my skull, on the right hand side. I went to A&E for it last year because I wasn't sure if it was something else going on...was given anti-nausea meds and that's the end of that.
This week I have had FOUR migraines with aura and I'm at the end of my rope. It's impossible to get a GP appointment. I'm not sure what to do.
I've been putting off talking to the Dr about it because I know how busy they are, but pain in the base of my skull is quite new (last few years) for me. I'm not sure if it needs further looking into or not. I've been getting pain behind my right ear too, but not at the same time as the migraines.
At one point last week my right hand and side of face went numb/tingly for 30 minutes - this was without a visual aura. That's never happened to me before - I always usually get a visual aura before any kind of physical symptoms. Numbness and tingling has happened before, but very rarely.
Baffled and teary at this point.
