My experience-[Vent] Sometimes I wish I was a normal teenager

I'm 16 and I've been getting basically weekly migraines for like 6 months now. I inherited it from my mothers side of the family, so I can look at her for an estimate of how bad my condition is going to be in a couple decades and it does not look fun.

I've missed so much school, it's not even funny. My teachers all know about it and most of them will send me straight to medical if I ask. Our school has an actual nurse who's quite helpful, but usually shes busy and I get the school receptionist, who thinks I'm faking my migraines and 'get them too much for it to be believable'.

And I hate it. It's not fucking fair. I'm missing out on 'the best years of my life'. Why can't a be a normal teenager, without my stupid medical shit getting in the way? I can't go to parties because loud music sets off my migraines, I keep flaking on my friends, and when I can go out, it's a coin flip on whether I get a migraine and have to go home.

I dont think I can keep doing this. My exams are coming up and I had migraines every other day during my mock exams and I'm dreading it.

Honestly, I don't know if I'm looking for comfort or advice. I just needed to write this.
