My experience-I'm an expectant father and my migraine decided to show its ugliest face.
I've been battling migraine for the past 10 years. It all started when I started doing odd office shifts(time). My attacks always ended in violent vomiting where I'd be left puking bile since there was no food left. Intially it was always blamed on food and I, never for once thought it was this wretched thing. The frequency of attacks kept on increasing and at its worst I had to deal with 3-4 attacks a week.
Once I realized it was migraine , I tried keeping the night shifts to a minimum and things started improving. I moved to a different job(no more night shifts) and the frequency came down to about 3-4 attacks a month.
Things were(or in fact, are) looking bright and I moved on with my life. I got married and is expecting a baby sometime early next year.
Last week this throbbing head ache started worrying me. It's not debilitating like my previous bouts which usually culminates in me throwing up and loosing an entire day. This one creeps upon you, stays with you and prods you every now and then. I woke up the other day from deep sleep because of the sheer pain. I've been battling this for over a week and have no idea when I can go back to my normal life.
This sudden evolution of my migraine has left me wondering how I will be able to support my wife during pregnancy and the parenting challenges after the baby is born. The Monster has reared its ugly head at the worst possible time.
