My experience-How do you manage the lights in a shared home?

As a migraine sufferer I prefer to live in the dark, even when I don't have an active migraine I'm sensitive to lights.

However, my boyfriend is the opposite. He needs all the blinds open and the lights on to feel energized and awake. Other than having separate rooms to go to (which we do), does anyone have any tips on how to enjoy shared spaces with someone who doesn't want to "live like a vampire"? Lol
