My experience-Has anyone else experienced chocolate triggered migraines?
So today I think I experienced my first migraine triggered by chocolate. When I was first diagnosed with migraines by my GP in 2019 she asked me if I had been eating a lot of chocolate and cheese to which I replied yes because it was around Christmas time and then told me that they are a common trigger for migraines but I really didn’t think anything of it until today. The first thing I put in my mouth today was 5 squares of the new Cadbury caramilk chocolate. Almost instantly I started getting the aura symptoms: colourful flashing zigzags in my vision. At first I thought I had looked at the sun a bit too long but after it didn’t go away for 5 minutes I knew a migraine was brewing. It lasted 15 minutes and then the right sided headache hit me… lasted 4 hours until it finally subsided a few hours ago. Now I am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar to this after eating chocolate?
