My experience-Another Topamax Horror story

Please bear with me as I currently have the attention span of a golden retriever and my brain is moving about as quickly as Microsoft Edge. Now, I understand that Topamax can be a Godsend for some and cause major problems for others. Unfortunately, I am part of the second group. TLDR at the Bottom, because I think I'm getting bad medical advice and want to consult the hive mind.

Several years ago I was put on Topamax for migraines, like many of us are. Before starting I asked my neurologist about potential side effects, and anything I had to do to prevent or mitigate potential complications. He gave me no information, but the pharmacist did tell me about the potential tingles in my face and hands as well as to stay hydrated. I followed titration instructions and didn't have any issues until I was at 100mg. The Neuro wouldnt return my calls, and I had to figure out on my own that I was experiencing side effects and it wasn't an extreme flare up of a chronic illness I have. To be honest, looking back I am genuinely impressed that I was able to figure it out given no info from him and the fact that I couldn't string together two coherent thoughts. Two urgent care visits, fighting with insurance and two months later, we tried the extended release formula, but things didn't really get better so we tapered off, and I got a new neurologist.

Fast forward and there has been a supply chain issue with my emgality, at least that's what my pharmacist is telling me. My neurologist is leaving the area, and another provider in the office is taking over. My migraines are getting bad, so he wants to try me on 50 MG of Topamax. No taper. I started this on the 2nd of April. Pretty quickly I start having issues, and I don't remember it being this bad ever before. Headaches, my eyes hurt, joint pain and muscle fatigue, I'm having to talk myself through things that are muscle memory tasks plus I'm getting all the absurdly weird neurological side effects ( think Alice in Wonderland Syndrome.) I've lost 15 lbs, and my kidneys hurt. I call my GP's emergency line Saturday morning and they get me in for lab tests, and Friends... it's not good. I'm not being given the option to taper off. My body is rejecting this drug, and I'm gearing up for a few days (which may be optimistic) of hell. I've been on it a week, so I've been told I'm not at risk of seizures, but I'm going to detox rapidly. For the record it took an hour to finish writing this.

TLDR: I'm not tolerating Topamax 50mg at all, it's jacking up my kidneys, I'm being instructed to stop cold turkey and feel like death. Any advice on making it through this detox?
