My experience-Am I having migraines?

Hey everyone. I've had a long journey dealing with headaches / sinus issues, but I am becoming highly suspicious that I have migraines.

A year ago, I went to the ER for severe head pressure and pain. They diagnosed with me Sinusitus. I followed up with my GP and tried a few different things, antibiotics, antihistamines, flonase, etc. They helped to some degree with the sinus pressure / hay fever, but never really touched the headaches. I was referred to an ENT who confirmed I have a dust mite allergy.

I always thought that because migraines are described as "throbbing", that my headaches can't be migraines. My bad headaches are generally one sided, starting at my eye, with the pain branching out in a wedge that begins at the top of my ear and ends in the middle of my head. The pain is very achy -- hard to put a specific word on it, but its painful. This pain runs all the way from the side of my head, up my scalp, and to the back of my neck. I experience it mainly on my left side, although it has switched sides before and I've felt it on my right. Sometimes, I will get a throbbing sensation that literally shakes my brain. When it's really bad, I cannot work and have to lie down until an Aleve kicks in to help.

In addition to those pain symptoms, my headache makes me nauseous, although I've never thrown up. I also think I might have a mild photophobia? It's not that the light is blinding and makes me want to run away, but rather I prefer a darker environment when my headache is bad. Covering my face with a pillow to block out the light does help, I think.

Do these symptoms sound like a migraine? I'm thinking I may have a mild case (I cannot believe some of you live with worse conditions than this). Please let me know your thoughts.
