My experience-Feeling triggered after neurology appt
Feeling triggered after my visit with a PA at my neurologist’s office this week. I went in for my annual visit and asked about a preventive injection, and whether this would be a safe long-term option since I’m in my 30’s and family planning is on my mind for the future.
This PA was trying to convince me that my migraines will miraculously “go away” during pregnancy and I’m super skeptical since I normally have 12-15 per month right now and have for years. And that the only thing safe will be Tylenol, what the actual fuck? I feel so dismissed and like I’m a vessel/handmaid who will have cruel pain + suffering inflicted on me IF and when I intentionally try to become pregnant. I am concerned that my needs will not be met, and this is a hugely negligent perspective on their part.
It’s just simply NOT an option to assume my migraines will go away and not have a game plan for them during pregnancy except for “Tylenol”. From the little research I’ve already done, migraines increase for some women during pregnancy, so I am feeling even more uncomfortable after my visit after learning this.
Keep in mind I have not discussed this with my OBGYN and will definitely ask during my next visit.
