My experience-What do you pay for Sumatriptan pills?

Sitting in bed with covid (for the first time). Being sick makes me more likely to get a migraine, and I realise I only have 2 pills left.

I can't remember what I paid for Suma when I lived in the US. I had a pretty good Healthcare plan but I think it was a chunky copay.

Here in NZ, with universal healthcare (free hospitals, subsidised primary care), it goes like this:

Medical Centre charge for a new script was NZ$32, which is about US$20.30. Basic health insurance through work takes this to NZ$6.40 (US$4.06).

Government copay at pharmacy is NZ$5 (US$3.17), but after insurance this is NZ$1 (US$0.63).

I get 36 50mg pills, so all up that's NZ$7.40 (US$4.70), including dr script costs, after insurance.

So 21 NZ cents per pill, = 13 US cents per pill.
