Migraine overview
A migraine is a headache that can purpose intense throbbing suffering or a pulsing sensation, typically on one facet of the head. It's often accompanied with the aid of nausea, vomiting, and excessive sensitivity to mild and sound. Migraine assaults can closing for hours to days, and the discomfort can be so excessive that it interferes with your each day activities. For some people, a warning symptom viewed as an air of secrecy takes location until now than or with the headache. My experience-Nurtec pharmacy approvals-is this normal? (USA)
I have been using Nurtec as an abortive and so far it has worked great for me. I have seen on here how many people have had issues with their insurance approving it, but I have not had any issues until today.
When first prescribed, my PCP got 3 refills set up at my pharmacy. I assumed that meant that I could refill it 3 times before needing to resubmit to insurance.
I went to get my 1st refill today, and the pharmacy called and said it was pending insurance approval. Is this normal? Or should I already be approved for 3 refills? I tried asking the pharmacist, but he didn’t understand what I was asking, and just kept reassuring me that I had a coupon to cover the remaining cost.
If it takes extra time to get it filled, that’s no problem, but I’d like to know for future refills if I’ll need to give myself a week or more of waiting for approval.
