My experience-Inconsistent gut problem - was it the Topamax?

I started on 25mg topiramate in early May - initially it made me feel sicky and woozy, but nothing too bad and it gave me plenty of headache fee days. A full month after starting it I had a terrible episode of diarrhoea out of nowhere - I wasn't ill, I felt fine, everything just suddenly emptied! I put it down to eating too fast on a very empty stomach.

I forgot about it and then it happened again 6 weeks later. I'd been feeling under the weather with a fever anyway so figured it was just that.

I stopped the topiramate 2 weeks ago in favour of candesartan. I had some terrible migraines having skipped it for 3 nights so in desperation I took it for a couple of nights to try and break the cycle. Same again - sudden and inexplicable diarrhoea both following days.

My GP is investigating my stomach cramps, bloated sensation when eating and the weird diarrhoea as potential H. Pylori - I've lost about 9lbs as I have no appetite. I've had IBS for years but this is different. I took topiramate for just over 3 months in total but I hadn't connected the symptoms to it at all - I'm aware that it can cause all these things, but the episodes were so inconsistent/far apart and didn't start for a month (plus I never increased from 25mg) that it didn't make sense.

True side effects start straight away then fade over time, they don't manifest like this...do they? Any similar experiences?
