My experience-Icepick headaches behind left eye
For the past couple years I have started to have icepick headaches. They’re usually 1-3 seconds of sharp intense pain, sometimes maybe a minute or two, but never accompanied by any other symptoms. I brought it up to my GP last year and he wasn’t concerned.
My first concern is that they always occur in a straight line directly behind my left eye and it kind of feels like they go to the back of my head and down my throat.
My second concern is that about 12 years ago when I was in high school, I had two strokes, one of which caused the right side of my body to lose dexterity and coordination (which I have since regained) and one caused a blind spot in my right field of vision. Of course since these both affected the right side of my body, the strokes occurred in the left hemisphere of my brain - making the ice pick headaches solely on the left side rather concerning.
Regardless, I am making an appointment with a neurologist soon, even if it’s simply follow up for my strokes - but the alleviate my concerns for now, does anyone else have a similar type of headache or advice?
