My experience-Tens experiment cervicogenic 2

I went with small electrode on neck and medium electrode on back. When I put the bottom electrode farther out on my shoulder it makes the muscle contract and I didn’t like that.

I think it helps with the cervicogenic/tension type headaches due to musculoskeletal issues. I would say it’s similar to tacan ibuprofen. It lasted a while after my 20 minutes was up but not a long time. I would just wear the electrodes under my clothes and turn on the unit when I needed some relief.

I’m going to get more small electrodes and see about using them for the back as well. My setup is very small and I think the smaller patches would work better.

When I remove the sticky pads they are not that sticky anymore, so I rinse them off and let them air dry. Having more pads will let me rotate them so I have a daytime set and a nighttime set. I also have an adhesive gel for tens pads called tenxtend that I got for my Cefaly. It’s good at making the electrodes sticky again.

Pros: pain relief similar to an NSAID. Low profile. I can sleep with it on.

Cons: Not long lasting. Poor electrode placement causes arm twitching. Electrodes hard to place and pita to take care of.
